Getting it right
- Type the network name exactly as it appears, including capitals and spaces. SSIDs are case sensitive.
- Put the printed code on the guest network, not your main one, so visitors never touch your internal devices.
- Laminate or frame it. A code that has been wiped down a hundred times stops scanning once the surface scuffs.
Questions people ask
Is my Wi-Fi password safe here?
Yes. The code is built entirely inside your browser — the password is never sent to a server. Anyone who can see the printed code can join your network, though, so display it only where you want guests.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. iOS 11 and later and virtually all modern Android phones read Wi-Fi codes with the built-in camera app.
What about a hidden network?
Tick the hidden option. It adds a flag telling the phone to search for a network that does not broadcast its name.
