What works in practice
- Match the code colour to your stationery, but keep strong contrast against the paper.
- Rounded dots with a soft ink colour look far less industrial than pure black squares.
- Print in vector and test a proof with three different phones before the full run.
Common question
Can I use a pale colour?
Only if the contrast is strong. A light code on white paper will not scan — keep the code much darker than its background.
